One night on the Wall, one year before the Games

A tradition finds a new stage

For years, Tuesday evenings in Livigno have had a familiar date: the Show Maestri. A collective descent, light on the snow, spectators gathered along the piste. For one evening, ski instructors turn their craft into a show and tell part of the mountain’s story on skis.
On 11 February 2025, we brought this tradition to a special place. Together with Scuola Sci Centrale, we moved the show to the Carosello 3000 Wall, on the final stretch of the black Zuelli run. The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were exactly one year away. Livigno would host the moguls and aerials events here.

The Wall lights up

More than seventy ski and snowboard instructors descended the slope in front of around one thousand spectators. The evening brought together technique and adrenaline, traditional gestures and more contemporary styles. The instructors’ runs, the illuminated slope, torchlight and fireworks gave the Wall a new look for one night.
It was more than a display of skill. It was a chance to meet again, recognise a shared history and take a closer look at a place preparing to become an Olympic stage. Many Livigno residents also came back to watch a show that belongs to the community’s memory as much as it does to the events calendar.

A night that stays with us

The Wall went on to become an Olympic stage. But The Wall Edition remains tied to that one evening: a special edition born from the meeting of a local tradition and an approaching milestone. It is a reminder of what Livigno can create when its instructors, the mountain and the audience come together on the same slope.

Will it return?

For now, The Wall Edition is the memory of a single night. The Wall is still there, the mountain keeps changing, and the Show Maestri continues to tell Livigno’s story. If those paths cross again, the next winter will decide. In the meantime, that light on the Zuelli remains bright in our memory.
