CAROSELLO 3000 TOWARDS THE 2026 OLYMPICS
Information for the 2025/26 Season
Skiing at Carosello 3000 during the Olympic Games
During the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, access to and use of the Carosello 3000 ski area will follow some temporary operational adjustments, designed to ensure safety, smooth circulation and the best possible experience for skiers.
Below you will find all the key information to help you plan your day on the slopes.
Use of the Carosello 3000 gondola
Starting from January 29, 2026, the Carosello 3000 gondola will be accessible exclusively to skiers and usable only uphill. Pedestrian access will not be allowed during this period.
For skiers, this will be a unique opportunity: reaching the peaks of Carosello 3000 while passing next to the Olympic venue and experiencing the atmosphere of the competitions from a privileged viewpoint above.
Slopes affected by the competitions
Olympic competitions will involve only the following slopes:
- Pista Centrale, from the mid-station of the cable car downwards
- Pista Zuelli, from the Tea Borch area downwards
All other slopes in the ski area will remain regularly open and accessible, as well as the panoramic Carosello 3000 mountain restaurant.
Return to the town will always be guaranteed:
- via the San Rocco lift slopes
- or by skiing back to the town centre through the Sitas ski area
Over 95% of the ski area will remain fully open throughout the season, even during the Olympics.
Get ready for an unforgettable season: even during the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, the Livigno and Carosello 3000 ski area will remain almost entirely open and ready to welcome skiers and visitors. Only a small area, dedicated to Olympic races, will be temporarily closed to the public.
Slopes & Lifts
The ski area remains open from 29 November 2025 to 1 May 2026. Only a small sector will be closed during the Olympic races. Mountain huts, restaurants and main connections will remain operational.
Roads & Transport
Traffic in the village will always be allowed, with just two restricted areas near the Olympic venues. Guests with a reservation will receive a free vehicle pass to reach their accommodation. There will be interchange car parks and dedicated shuttle services.
Tickets & Bookings
Want to attend the competitions? You can book your spot via the official portal. We recommend booking your accommodation in advance – hotels, apartments and campsites are already receiving requests for the Olympic period.
Accessibility & Services
All accommodation facilities will remain open and ready to welcome you. Ski schools, rentals, shops and restaurants will also continue to provide all services needed for a perfect holiday.
How to reach us
During the Olympic period, the cable car departure area and ticket office of Carosello 3000 will remain regularly accessible.
Starting from January 29, 2026, the bus stop will be moved slightly forward from its current position, close to Pasticceria Dolce Passione.
From February 4, 2026, access to the private car parking area will be allowed only to vehicles holding a Zone 1 Pass.
Throughout the Olympic Games, access controls to the cable car will be in place. To ensure faster access and facilitate checks, guests are advised to avoid backpacks and bags.
The Freestyle Heart of the 2026 Olympics
Livigno will be one of the key players in the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The resort will host as many as 26 Olympic finals in freestyle and snowboard disciplines, bringing the thrill of the Five Rings to the heart of the Alps.
In particular, the Carosello 3000 side will play a central role: this is where the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park has been built, a brand-new competition area located on the final section of the black run “Zuelli”, better known as “the Wall of Carosello 3000”.
This historic occasion celebrates Livigno’s bond with freestyle sports and represents a lasting legacy for the area, thanks to major investments in infrastructure and services.
New Lifts for an Olympic Season
Carosello 3000 is investing in the future with the construction of two new lifts:
- Blesaccia 2 Chairlift: a modern six-seater with automatic coupling, weather protection domes and increased hourly capacity, replacing the old 4-seater.
- Baby Chairlift: a new fixed four-seater that improves access to the ridge and to the Snowpark The Beach.
These developments will offer greater comfort, efficiency, and an even more exciting ski experience before, during and after the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Journey – A Growth Path for Livigno and Carosello 3000
The run-up to the Olympics is not just a date on the calendar, but a true journey made of events, construction works and transformations that are reshaping Livigno and the Carosello 3000 ski area.
In recent years, strategic infrastructure developments have taken place: new and faster lifts, improved connections and the creation of cutting-edge competition venues such as the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park, already completed and tested.
Alongside technical upgrades, the area has celebrated each step of the journey with events involving locals, tourists and sport enthusiasts: from snow shows to outdoor festivals and the passage of the Olympic Flame.
