There are trails you ride once, and trails that stay with you. H-Dream is one of the ones that stay.
Anyone who has ridden at Carosello 3000 over the past ten years knows it by one name or another — H-Dream in the catalogues, Hutr to those who grew up on it. It's one of the very first trails built on our mountain, one of those lines you don't need to explain: you drop in, find your rhythm, read the berms, pump the rollers. And for a moment, almost without noticing, your wheels leave the ground.
4.2 kilometres. 385 metres of descent. An average gradient of 9% that says little on paper, but turns into pure flow under your wheels. For ten years this line has been part of the history of the bike area. And it's exactly from here — from where it all began — that we chose to start again.
Why touch a trail people already love? That's the question we asked ourselves before firing up the machines. The answer came while riding: ten years is a long time, the way we ride has changed, and a line like this deserved to speak today's language without losing an ounce of its character.
So H-Dream returns in a completely reworked version. Redesigned lines, rebuilt rollers and jumps, updated berms, new features along the track. And some serious work — the kind you don't see but definitely feel — on the surface and on water drainage, because a beautiful trail that doesn't last is no good to anyone.
The result is faster, smoother, more accessible. But the DNA is untouched: it's still a red flow trail, intermediate in difficulty, able to speak to riders who could hardly be more different from one another. Those who want to let the bike run will find rhythm and air-time. Those who prefer a more controlled ride get a progressive descent — physical, fun, never over the top. The rollers are there for anyone who wants to catch some air. No one's forcing you to jump them — but sooner or later the temptation kicks in. We know that all too well.

A trail that truly works isn't built by machines alone. First came the tiller, grinding down the material already on the track: a firmer, more stable surface, and no non-native soil hauled up the mountain. Then the excavator, to redraw lines, compressions, rollers, jumps and berms from scratch. And finally the most hands-on part — shaping, finishing, reading every detail by hand. The part that makes the difference between a trail that's merely "built" and a trail that truly flows.
The work was carried out by our own trail builders, led by Ghentian Goci, together with the crew from Mountain Bike Movement — an Austrian company founded by Daniel Tulla, specialised in designing MTB destinations, with projects behind them in bike destinations such as Innsbruck, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Ischgl and Nauders. Alongside them, as they have been for the past two years, IMBA Italia: technical consultancy, training, and a trail culture built on design, sustainability, drainage, safety and riding quality.
"We adapted H-Dream to a more modern concept — one of Carosello 3000's historic lines, which already had a very interesting trail design despite being ten years old now," says Luca Bortolotti of IMBA Italia, on site in person throughout the work. "We started from the DNA of this trail, which is the sheer enjoyment of the ride, to make it as modern and accessible as possible."

The new H-Dream isn't a standalone project. It's one piece of something bigger: the way Carosello 3000 is redefining its bike identity and Livigno's summer positioning as a leading MTB destination. A direction with a name — Livigno | 1816 Bike Zone — which isn't just a brand, but a clearer way of telling the story of the resort's entire bike ecosystem: trails, services, lifts, hospitality, training, high-altitude sporting culture.
Because here, the bike isn't a product bolted on to the mountain. It's part of the way Livigno lives movement. Those 1816 metres aren't just an altitude: they're a riding condition, a change of pace, a physical and mental threshold that makes every ride different.
"Reworking H-Dream also says something about the path Carosello 3000 wants to follow," explains Stefano Cusini, General Manager of Carosello 3000. "In recent years we've invested heavily in both our winter and summer offering, with the goal of building an ever more modern and complete mountain resort. For us, mountain biking is one of the key assets of the summer season: it's not just about opening trails, but working on the quality of the lines, on maintenance, on safety, on training our trail builders, and on the ability to give guests an increasingly refined and contemporary experience."

With the new H-Dream, we're putting one of our most iconic lines back at the centre. Without changing its nature. Simply bringing it to where today's riding wants it to be.
The rest, as always, you'll write yourself. In the saddle.
